Head of Talent Acquisition

We’re hiring a Head of Talent Acquisition to help us scale our technical teams. You will be a key hire and our first recruiter. You will be responsible for hiring in key technical roles, building your Recruiting team, and eventually, hiring for go-to-market roles.


  • Building Buf’s Recruiting function, including supporting in the development of Buf’s technical-first recruiting strategy, improving processes, hiring team members, and providing team leadership.
  • Partnering with hiring managers to identify talent needs, clarify scope for new roles, and provide support throughout the hiring process.
  • Sourcing high potential candidates for a range of technical roles, including across engineering, developer relations, design, and product management.
  • Managing full-cycle recruiting operations, including creation of and refinement of job descriptions, management of job postings, review of job applicants, and overseeing the candidate interview process.
  • Leading introductory conversations and interviews with selected candidates to evaluate their cultural and technical fit for our company.
  • Most importantly, creating a seamless and efficient candidate experience.


  • At least six years of professional experience in a technical full-cycle recruiting role.
  • Experience leading a Recruiting team at a technical company.
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational abilities.
  • Passion for delivering a leading candidate experience.A post-secondary degree in any relevant field.
